This session will inform people about government and Miami specific information to better understand the systems so they can advocate on their own and get involved with organizations. It will provide an overview of local, state and federal functions of government. Also, a breakdown of Miami-Dade County to include cities and un-incorporated areas. Attendees will walk out knowing all their representatives and a plan to reach out to at least one of them based off a socialist based issue of their choice. It will include tips on attending commission meetings, setting up meetings, attending rallies/protests, organizing, etc.
