MIAMI, FL – Broken tail lights and brake lights can be dangerous to other drivers and could get you pulled over by the police. Undocumented people can further be detained and deported for the infraction. The Miami Democratic Socialists of America want to help.
The Miami DSA is hosting “Gimme a Brake (Light)” from 1 PM to 6 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Colorblock Miami, 5706 Northeast 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33137.
Volunteers from the group will replace broken brake and tail lights for anyone who comes free of charge. They will have many different brake lights in stock.
The purpose is to help reduce the opportunity for police stops that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations.
