Mutual Aid Working Group

Socialism in action through mutual aid by going beyond charity as a top-down social relation and working in solidarity towards self-determination for all. Miami DSA has formed our Mutual Aid Working Group (MAWG) dedicated to these efforts, by plugging into existing programs already taking place in the community in addition to planning our own. We participate in work days at Green Haven Project’s urban farms, Smile Trust food distributions, and our own Hygiene Kit distribution program and are in the starting process of a ”Gimme A Brake (Light)” program that works to fix people’s brake lights in the Miami-Dade community to reduce interactions with the police.

Donate to Our Mutual Aid Fund

Miami DSA’s Mutual Aid Working Group is launching a regular houseless support program, after seeing the overwhelming need for mutual aid in Miami from our Holidarity Campaign. Help us continue to build relationships and provide direct mutual aid  consistently, by donating to our smaller but more strategic monthly mutual aid program.

All of our work is funded by community donations. We do not take any grant money or corporate donations. 100% of donations go to our Mutual Aid work in Miami-Dade county.
