Steering Committee Elections & General Meeting

Our next annual general meeting will be held at The Colorblock Miami on Sunday, August 19th at 3 PM. We suggest that new & prospective members come an hour early at 2 PM for our membership orientation.

We’ll also be electing a new Steering Committee and all dues-paying members are urged to attend to vote for officers. Those interested in running should fill out this form or email the Nominations Committee for more information.

Miami DSA Steering Committee Nominations

Now is your chance to help lead your local chapter of the largest socialist organization in the country. The Miami DSA Nominations Committee is looking for candidates to run for Steering Committee positions. According to the recently-modified bylaws, elected positions include two Co-chairs, a Treasurer, a Communications Coordinator, a Membership Coordinator, a Student Coordinator, and three additional non-officer Steering Committee members.

Nominations were officially opened 10 days before the elections, which are to be held on August 19th. Members who are Latinx, People of Color, and/or non cis-male identifying are particularly encouraged to run as our bylaws state that those communities should make up a majority of the Steering Committee. If you are interested in running for a position on the Steering Committee, feel free to fill out this form or email the Nominations Committee for more information.

Red Gala: A One Year Anniversary Celebration

We’ve been hard at work for the past year fighting for a world where working people run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs. Along the way we’ve met tons of great folks and we would love to build on those relationships as we move forward into our second year as a chapter.

Whether you’re well acquainted with DSA or just curious about our organization, this is your opportunity to look back on our first year, publicly welcome our new leadership, and learn about where we’re headed.
We hope you’ll join!
